What does "Teacup", "Pixi" and "Toy" actually mean ???
This has to be the most asked question we receive. Actually the term Teacup, Pixi and Toy have been used by
breeders for years. These are not a breed of cat, but descriptive words typically used to describe the Silver and
Golden Persians. Silver's and Golden's have traditionally been the smallest color in the Persian family of colors.
They have a more compact frame and are generally much more petite than other colors. Its important not to
confuse that with weight. Any animal can gain weight, however weight gain doesn't affect the overall frame of
the cat. These colors most often average around 4/-6 lbs for females and 5/7 lbs for males. This of course isn't an
exact science and no breeder can guarantee that a kitten wont gain weight. We can however confidently say that
their frames are smaller and much more compact.
Pixi's and Toys are descriptive words we use to help identify those who may have other colors in their background
other than Silver or Golden. This usually causes them to be a little larger in size. When incorporating a Silver or
Golden Persian into the line of another color, this can many times help bring the size down.
We hope this clarifies any questions or concerns about the size of our kittens. We try to be as accurate as possible
when talking about the size one of our kittens to ensure your satisfaction. We base our estimates on past kittens
from specific parents and feedback we receive from our past clients. We also keep back a few of our own kittens
